Welcome to Varanasi – India’s spiritual heart! Upon arrival at Varanasi Airport, you’ll be met by our local representative and introduced to your driver. You’ll then be transferred directly to your hotel. Once checked in, the rest of the day is yours to relax or begin exploring this vibrant city at your own pace.

NOTE: Standard hotel check-in time is from 12:00 pm onwards. A private vehicle is provided only for the arrival transfer today. Please talk to your MyHoliday2 consultant about adding flights in and out of Varanasi.

Rise early this morning for an unforgettable Dawn Boat Ride on the Ganges River. You’ll depart your hotel around 5:00 am (final timing will be confirmed locally). As the sun begins to rise, watch Varanasi come to life with locals gathering for morning rituals along the ghats. With your guide, you’ll hear stories of the sacred riverfront and the Maharajas who built these iconic ghats. The tour ends with a short walking tour near Tulsi Ghat and a visit to a hidden Sun Temple.

Later this morning, head into the heart of Varanasi for the Northern Bazaars & Hidden Alleys Walk. Few travellers venture into these winding lanes of the old city, where ancient temples, shopfronts, and deeply rooted traditions are tucked away from the usual tourist trail. This walking tour offers a rare glimpse into the cultural fabric of Banaras and its people—many of whom have lived in the same street for generations.

In the evening, return to the river for a sunset boat ride and Aarathi ceremony—a mesmerising spiritual experience. As lamps flicker in devotion along the banks and chants echo in the air, you’ll visit the sacred cremation grounds of Manikarnika and hear stories behind the rituals that have taken place here for centuries.

NOTE: Depending on your hotel location, today’s transfers will be arranged using cars, cycle rickshaws or auto rickshaws. As Varanasi’s streets are narrow and congested, larger vehicles are not suitable.
